Attraction - Natural Attractions

Located only a few kilometres from Thredbo, Dead Horse Gap crosses the Great Dividing Range at 1580m and the watershed between the Thredbo Snowy System and the Murray River. The reference to dead horses apparently relates to the brumbies that sometimes became trapped in this area during unexpected snowfalls and died. There are some magnificent views into New South Wales and Victoria. There is a parking area and walking track.
