The Hunter Wetlands Centre is a wildlife sanctuary and a haven for wildlife and people, providing a habitat for over 250 wildlife species. Located on 45 hectares of wetlands, it is the perfect nature-based tourism destination to explore, discover and relax and is only 10 minutes from Newcastle central business district, in the Hunter Region of New South Wales.

The Hunter Wetlands Centre offers a range of activities for people of all ages ranging from wildlife, walking trails and guided tours, canoeing, dip netting, feeding talks, bird watching, events, children's discovery playground and much more.

Cafe Nourish overlooks the wetland ponds and offers visitors a wide range of delicious foods, snacks and beverages, with function facilities and children's birthday parties also available. Or choose from numerous picnic spots overlooking the peaceful ponds, where barbecue facilities are also available.

With a seasonal event program there is always something happening at the Hunter Wetlands Centre, featuring regular and special events from spotlight prowls, breakfast with the birds, canoe tours, music, school holiday program and more. The Hunter Wetlands Centre is a community owned, not for profit organisation and is also an accredited Visitor Information Centre and agent for the sale of National Parks and Wildlife Service Annual Passes.
