Along the coast of NSW there are now seven national surfing reserves. These natural treasures are sites of environmental, cultural and historic significance in Australia’s vibrant surf culture. As sensitive coastal regions they are protected forever, ensuring that surfers can enjoy some of the best beaches in the world for years to come.
Surfing reserves stretch along the entire coast of NSW and include two Sydney beaches - Cronulla and North Narrabeen. Angourie, Crescent Head, Lennox Head and Merewether beaches on the North Coast are as famous for their surf breaks as they are for the world champion surfers who have learned to surf here. The waves at secluded beaches in Killalea State Park near Shellharbour are some of the best on the South Coast.
